Since 2006 he has worked in general dental practice in the Scottish Borders. He began his postgraduate training at the Edinburgh Dental Institute, completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Dental Care in 2010. During this period he also passed the MJDF examination with the Royal College of Surgeons of England and is currently an Associate Fellow of the College of General Dentistry. Gareth previously worked as a visiting lecturer with the Dental Vocational (Foundation) Training Programme and has been a Programme Tutor on the MSc in Restorative Dentistry since 2016.
